Sierra Signorelli will become CEO of Americas and Global Personal Insurance at American International Group, returning to AIG from Zurich on January 1, 2027. AIG’s announcement says she will report to President and CEO Eric Andersen; Insurance Journal adds that Signorelli will oversee AIG’s North America and Latin America & Caribbean commercial insurance businesses as well as global personal insurance.
This is a return with a defined operating perimeter. Signorelli spent 17 years at AIG earlier in her career, including as global chief underwriting officer for specialty lines, before moving to Zurich, where she held senior roles including CEO of Zurich U.S. Her new remit brings technical underwriting experience back into a role that spans several important businesses and markets.
A familiar operator with a broader brief
Andersen said Signorelli brings deep technical experience, market relationships and a track record of leading high-performing teams. Signorelli said she was returning at a pivotal time as the shape of risk changes quickly, and that she would work with AIG’s leadership team to drive the business forward and deliver more value to clients and partners.
The appointment has a clear calendar and a clear reporting line, but the available announcement does not name a predecessor for the role. That is useful context in itself: the story is about bringing a known AIG operator back into the organization with a broader geographic and product mandate.
