Marco Viganò has been appointed CEO of Jil Sander, the OTB-owned luxury label, after serving as Moncler’s global chief client officer and president for EMEA. Reuters reported the appointment on September 15, and FashionNetwork’s coverage said Viganò assumed the role on Tuesday.\n\nViganò reports to Ubaldo Minelli, CEO of OTB Group, who had overseen Jil Sander on an interim basis. The company’s stated rationale is practical: his international-market knowledge and luxury-sector experience are intended to support growth and reinforce the brand’s positioning.\n\nFrom client development to brand leadership\n\nViganò spent more than a decade at Moncler, where his brief focused on client development and customer experience. Before that, he was chief commercial officer at Audemars Piguet. The move therefore brings a commercial and international lens to a label whose next chapter depends on translating creative identity into durable relationships with customers around the world.\n\nThe appointment is another example of luxury groups using a senior executive’s operating experience to shape succession and brand direction, a theme also visible in Richemont’s move to place Anton Rupert on its succession path.
